When Santosh Wagh isn't struggling out of a bottle of whisky he's head of Private India, the Mumbai branch of the world's finest PI agency. In a city of over thirteen million he has his work cut out at the best of times. But now someone is killing women - seemingly unconnected women murdered in a chilling ritual, with strange objects placed carefully at their death scenes.
As Santosh and his team race to find the killer, an even greater danger faces Private India - a danger that could threaten the lives of thousands of innocent Mumbai citizens
Private started its innings in India too!! Credit goes to Ashwin Sanghi.
Thanks to Ashwin Sanghi and BlogAdda for choosing me to review this thriller novel “Private India”. I have read Ashwin Sahghi’s Chanakya’s Chant and Krishna’s Key. I like his way of narrating a story. He is a good story teller with twist of Indian mythology. This one also didn’t disappoint me in anyways. Book has all the right ingredients to make it a good thriller. Private India is a part of well known private series of novel by James Patterson. I have read few private series and Private India just fits well in the series.
I don’t want to give too much about the plot as I don’t like to take away the real thrill of a reader of this book. Choosing right characters is very important to make a thriller novel successful. Ashwin Sanghi in collaboration with James Patterson have created remarkable characters in this book. Santhos Wagh-Head of private India Inc with a troubled character because of his tragic past, who sounds like a lunatic but a living encyclopedia who successfully solves the mystery with his sharp mind. Mr.Wagh character also revolves around alcohol just like many protagonists who plays a detective role in thrillers. Ashwin Sanghi has his way to include mythology in his highly teched up plots and even in this novel also, essence of mythology makes the novel more thrillers. Jack Morgan who is a head of Private Inc, if you have read other private series, you will have clear insight about this character. He is an ex-marine and CIA agent who takes over his late father’s suffering detective agency-Private and opens up the branches all around the world also brings back its first class reputation, That explains Private India. Even Jack Morgan makes his appearance in this novel. His role doesn’t do much justice but can’t blame the author, because its private India and Santhosh wagh has to take the glory. I was able to guess the killer soon after knowing the characters of this book (I swear, I didn’t cheat), maybe that’s because of my PhD in thriller novels. Plot has good hold and keeps a reader engaged till end.
What’s my view on this book? Do I recommend?
Of course I recommend, According to me, book is good if it can keep a reader engaged till the end. Private India certainly keeps a reader engaged till end. I tasted little bollywood cocktail also in this book, honestly I didn’t like it. Yes there are few cons in the book but as I said book is very engaging so I forgive the cons.
I would love to read Santhosh Wagh once again in a new thriller. Mr.Ashwin sanghi can we expect another private India series any time soon??
